Those that walk through our doors or connect with us online, engage with us in one of three ways.
It’s important to know that, whether you consider yourself either a Congregation Member or a Core Member, you are a member of Beit Lechem Messianic Congregation. We love you and are committed to your growth. Our love and concern also extends to Visitors during whatever time we are blessed by their engagement.
To wear the “I’m Beit Lechem” pin, people identify as Core and are “all in” at Beit Lechem.
CORE DEFINED
People that are all in, means they are attending most Shabbats in person if they are local and online if they are not, frequently attend midrash in person or via Zoom, and are trying to master and live out Judaism and its theology along with trying to deal with Christian Doctrine in the context of Judaism.
They have also made a long-term commitment that Beit Lechem is their home congregation. This means that they have stopped shopping around for a congregation and are not attending an additional Sunday or Saturday congregation.
Also, as happens in any family, when there is a disagreement (whether theological or interpersonal), they are committed to sticking around and trying to understand and make peace with the disagreement with an open mind to other views and to also try to maintain the relationship.
And they are actively engaged in one or more of our ministries as a volunteer (not just as an attendee). The assumption is that they are also tithing or in some way financially supporting Beit Lechem.
And finally, they agree with and give their time to our Vision and Mission.
And with our Statement of Faith.
CORE COMPLETED ACTIONS
Additionally, these activities have been completed by Core Members:
1. They have installed Church Center on at least one of their electronic devices because it helps build community, unity and growth. It is an important way we request and offer prayer, download resources and promote events, and get to know each other.
2. They have completed two courses (Links are also in the Resource Tab for the Active Members Group):
A) Member Discipleship Program 01 Part 1 – Mission, Vision
B) Member Discipleship Program 01 Part 2 – Dynamics
3. They have completed our Bridge Program. (Talk to Rabbi John or Elder Kurt)
